Before you pay anyone

Some people offer to help with a held payout, for a fee. Whether to use such help is your decision. These are plain facts from the pages we read, and a few questions you can ask.

What the platforms name

PayPal names the Resolution Center and the instructions in its email notice. Stripe names an appeal in the Dashboard. Etsy names the Appeals Center for a permanent suspension. Shopify names the notification in your admin and the email to the store owner, and Wise names the email and the app. Among the points we read, none asks you to pay a third party.

Who decides

The platforms say their decisions may be based on confidential criteria. Only the platform can release a payout, so nobody outside it can set your release date. Each date on this site is a limit the platform states, not a promise.

Questions worth asking

  • What exactly do you charge, and when?
  • Which page of the platform says what you rely on?
  • Do you need my password? (This site never does.)

Not legal advice. A licensed professional in your country can tell you about your own case.
