Which situation is yours?

Account level reserve (standard, delivery-date based)

7 days · delivery date of each shipment

Standard reserve period is 7 days after delivery (DD+7). Source is a guide posted by Amazon staff in the Seller Forums, not a Seller Central help page; Amazon says periods and amounts differ per account.

Reserve for an A-to-z claim or chargeback

14 days · date the claim was opened

Funds are held until the claim is resolved, typically 14+ days. A chargeback reserve applies to transactions within the past 90 days and lasts until the chargeback is resolved (Amazon staff forum guide).

Account under review (new seller or unexpected activity change)

No fixed term published

Amazon names no number of days. Staff say the status is common for new sellers and during unexpected activity changes, and new sellers often see 100% of funds held at first.

Account deactivated: balance held

90 days · date of account deactivation

Per Amazon staff, after 90 days from deactivation you send a funds-disbursement request to [email protected]; this starts a separate investigation and release is not guaranteed. Another staff post says 60+ days (see not_confirmed).

Appeal of a deactivation (Plan of Action route)

2 days · submission of the appeal

Amazon's help page says to expect a reply to an appeal within two days.

Authenticity or supply-chain deactivation (documents required)

No fixed term published

Amazon staff: an appeal alone will not resolve this type of deactivation; the documents requested in the notification must be submitted and verified. No term given.

Appeal approved but funds still held

No fixed term published

Amazon names no term. Staff reply: when a case shows 'Pending Amazon Action', Amazon handles the review internally.

Not confirmed

We could not confirm these on the platform's own pages, so we do not state them as fact.

  • Seller Central help pages for payments, reserves and the Funds Withholding Policy: need login or returned no readable content; terms above come from Amazon-staff posts in the Seller Forums, not from the policy page itself.
  • Conflict on timing: one staff post says 60+ days after deactivation to start the disbursement request, another says 90 days; the notification text says 90 days after receiving the notification. Check the notice you received.
  • Whether funds are released at all: staff say eligibility depends on the reason for deactivation; no guaranteed outcome.
  • Seller Support case form, phone and postal routes for sellers: behind login, not confirmed.
  • Reply time for [email protected] and for 'Pending Amazon Action' cases: no official term found.
  • Any regulator or ombudsman that handles complaints about Amazon seller funds: no official Amazon source found, so none listed.
  • Mailboxes [email protected] and [email protected]: named by staff/notifications; not tested by us.
Good to know before a hold happens
  • Ship promptly, confirm dispatch in Manage Orders, provide valid tracking.
  • Use integrated carriers; Amazon uses the actual delivery date for them and the latest estimated date for others.
  • Resolve claims and chargebacks quickly and check Account Health regularly.
  • Avoid account changes (bank, business details) during a review.
